In a Post-War Tokyo, when the bureaucratic chief of department of the City Hall Kanji Watanabe (Takashi Shimura) finds that he has a terminal cancer, he decides to intensively live his last months of life. While dying, he finds the meaning of life, and fights for the construction of a playground in a poor zone of the city and the legacy of his existence.
Trust me, what the director showed in Ikiru has exceeded my expectations. Most movies, even the greatest ones, evaporate like mist once you've returned to the real world; they leave memories behind, but their reality fades free quickly. But not with this one :). It’s not surprising that Akira Kurosawa can produce a good film from nothing. I'm big fan of Drama movies. I'm not a true fan of Drama, but I'm like that too!.
